The IVMAA's mission is to provide vegetation management industries, related agencies and the public with communication and educational opportunities in the area of industrial vegetation management.
- Provide oportunities through which members can collectively solve vegetation management problems
- Encourage understanding, acceptance and compliance with proper vegetation management practices
- Educate members, industries and special interest groups in proper vegetation management procedures
- Set and monitor standards, both ethical and technological, for the industry
- Make representation to the government regarding industry concerns
- Provide a forum for environmental and other agencies to express their views on vegetation management practices
- Recognize, through an awards program, accomplishments that significantly improve the environmental effects of vegetation management
- Liaise with other Canadian vegetation management associations
